Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He was a Pakistani politician who served the eighth (8th)president of Pakistan from 14 November 1993 up to resigning on 2 December 1997.
He was first Baloch elected president from Balochestan PROVINCE.
EARLY LIFE
Leghari born in Choti Zareen village and this located in Dera Ghazi Khan District Punjab during British India ruler.
The Leghari family was Baloch of Punjab.
His father Nawabzada Muhammad
Khan Leghari and Bahadur Nawab Sir Muhammad Jamal Khan is his grandfather.
Leghari, both were active leaders who introduced their Tribe to the modern culture and ideas. His father took as active part in the Pakistan politics.
Leghari got his early education at Aitchison
College, the Forman Christian College in Pakistan.
And then St Catherine's College, Oxford in
United Kingdom. After it return from the UK, he sat for the Civil Services Exam in 1964.
He started his career as a civil servant. And also remained commissioner sargodha division.
Feel prior to enter in politics in 1973 and as the Senator representing the Punjab on the
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) platform from 1975 upto 1977.
Leghari won the 1977 election of National Assembly Elections on side of pakistan People's Party ticket.And appointed Minister for Industries head of Pakistan to maintain economy rate of Pakistan.
During President Zia-ul-Haq's administration is successfully ran and the general elections held in 1988.
General election held from 1990 to 1993.
And that time he worked under Benazir Bhutto as her deputy Leader.
And this deputy leader for Opposition and joined in the 1993 Pakistani general elections.
POLITICAL ACTIVISM
After INDEPENDENCE of Pakistan leghari joined the central superior services in 1964.
And worked for East Pakistan as civil service before coming back to Pakistan.
In 1973 he resigned from this civil service and joined the Pakistan people party(ppp).
Because he invited by Bhutto to join it.
PRESIDENT OF PAKISTAN
Leghari was the 8th president of Pakistan from 14 November 1993 up to 2 December 1997 And that time the Prime Minister is Benazir Bhutto and Malik Meraj Khalid is (acting).
Leghari Preceded by Wasim Sajjad (acting)
And aslo Succeeded by Wasim Sajjad (acting).
When he was president he opposesd the mass
corruption and white collar crimes from country of Pakistan.
During indirect election leghari get 274 votes
in the favour against 168 votes
for Wasim Sajjad.
MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIR
Leghari become foreign minister on
19 October 1993 up to 14 November 1993.
And that time the Prime Minister is Benazir Bhutto.
Leghari Preceded by Abdul Sattar (acting)
And Succeeded by Aseff Ahmad Ali for the post of foreign minister of Pakistan.
MINISTER OF WATER AND POWER
Leghari join the office of water and power ministry of Pakistan on 28 December 1988 up to 6 August 1990.
And again that time the Prime Minister is Benazir Bhutto.
For the post of water and power ministry leghari Preceded by Wazir Ahmad Jogezai
And Succeeded by Shahzada Muhammad Yousaf.
DEATH OF LEGHARI
Leghari were suffered from serious heart problems and disease he treat him self many time but there is no more life for leghari from The Great Allah side and during surgery the leghari died on 20 October 2010 (aged 70)
In Rawalpindi hospital Pakistan.
And buried in his own distract Dera ghazi khan.
