Sialkot August 30, 2024:- Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain has said that special zero waste campaign has been started in 21 rural union councils under the supervision of Local Government Department Sialkot under Chief Minister Punjab Sathra Punjab campaign in which 6, Daska of Sialkot. There are 9 Rural Union Councils, 4 in Pasarur and 2 in Sambaryal.
There are a total of 257 villages in these union councils, the bulk waste will be lifted and dumped in accordance with hygiene norms and after clearing these union councils within a month, the scope of this special campaign will gradually extend to the remaining 98 village councils. will be extended up to and only the available resources of the respective Union Councils are being used for this purpose and no additional funds or grants have been released.
He said this while addressing a meeting held to review the 21 "Zero Waste" Rural Union Council campaign. Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Anam Babar, Deputy Director Local Government Sialkot Umar Amjad Baig, ADLG Rana Arshad, besides Assistant Commissioner of Daska, Sambarial and Pasrur, Assistant Director Local Government and Inspector Enforcement of District Council participated in the meeting through video link. .
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain said that the fourth phase of the Sathra Punjab cleanliness campaign is ongoing in 119 rural union councils under the supervision of the Local Government Department, where one loader rickshaw and three sentry workers are collecting garbage from houses to door.
He said that monitoring teams have been formed under the leadership of the respective Assistant Commissioner to make the campaign successful. Assistant Director Local Government, Enforcement Inspector District Council, Secretary Union Council and stakeholders are part of the monitoring team.
All the activities of Sathra Punjab are being uploaded on the portal of CM Punjab in real time. The Deputy Commissioner further said that the zero waste campaign will be made successful in these union councils within a month, appealing to the citizens in this regard. They should cooperate with the Local Government and Community Development Department to make their villages clean and for more information in this regard they can call the District Control Room on 9250011.
Deputy Director Local Government Sialkot Umar Amjad Baig said that till now the Union Council Dalwali of this campaign has been cleared from where 135 metric tons of garbage has been lifted while the operation has started in Marakiwal Union Council from today.
He said that 21 elected union councils including Dalwali, Rasulpur Bhalian, Wario, Hindal, Moman, Marakiwal, Jhitke, Bulgan, Sivki, Kanwan Lat, Bombanwala, Gojra, Goenki, Bharuke, Glotian Khurd, Malomhe, Bhagatpur, Bajra Garhi. , Chad Bajwa, Dogri Harian and Kalarwala fort are included simultaneously the work of bulk waste lifting has been started.
